Each year, approximately 50 volunteers are recruited and attend the initial training – Foundation for Youth Work, before going on to take part in a range of volunteering activities. Opportunities for volunteering include Appropriate Adult service, youth activities, providing one-to-one support to young people, office work and fund raising.

Volunteer Training is accredited with the Open College Network. A recent Open College Network Moderation report praised the programme management and quality assurance system for volunteer training as ‘excellent’.

At any one time Motiv8 typically has 25-30 active volunteers. Some move on to further training or new jobs after their experience of volunteering, while others stay to give something back to their community and to young people in particular.

The majority of Motiv8 workers are employed in front line delivery roles, however we do also employ staff in administration, finance, HR and management posts.
